The Family Man

The Family Man follows the life of Manoj Bajpayee’s Shrikant Tiwari, a wry middle-class family man who is secretly working as an intelligence officer for an investigative agency. Sharp, addictive, thrilling and with filled dry humour, The Family Man also stars Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, and Sharif Hashmi. While Neeraj Madhav was the main antagonist for Season 2, Samantha Ruth Prabhu joined Season 2 as a hardened military rebel.

The Boys

This Amazon Prime Series is a must-watch for its take on what happens when superheroes abuse their powers rather than use them for good. The Boys is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The web series is now in its third season, with the fourth season expected next year. Outrageous and daring, Four More Shots Please chronicles the adventures and mishaps of four unabashedly and unapologetic women as they struggle to navigate love, work and friendships. Mirzapur season 3

Adding to the popular slew of crime shows on OTT, Mirzapur tells the tale of Akhandanand Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi), the mafia don and practically the ruler of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. The show narrates the deadly power struggles in his own family, external threats, and a game of snowballing ambitions. Made In Heaven

Don’t be fooled by the dazzling sangeet, Mehendi ceremonies and lavish pre-wedding parties of the rich and famous. Follow the struggles of Tara Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur) as they try to plan glamorous weddings while dealing with the stress of their own personal lives on the side. Made In Heaven shows the dark side to all the glitz and reiterates the idea—what glitters, isn’t golden at all. The series, which was released in 2018, also stars Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz and Maanvi Gaagroo among others. The show will return for Season 2 this year.

Paatal Lok

A rather disillusioned cop (Jaideep Ahlawat) lands the most bizarre case of a lifetime when four suspects are caught in the attempted murder of a journalist. However, it’s not as straightforward as he believes at first. He gets pulled into the darker realms of the underworld. The show is inspired by the traditional concepts of svarga, dharti and paatal (heaven, earth and hell), which is a metaphor for the different castes of India. Paatal Lok received rave reviews for its storyline, performances and direction. Season 2 would be released later this year.

Breathe: Into The Shadows

How far will you go to save the life of your loved ones? In the first season, Madhavan plays the role of a desperate father Danny who wants to save his son at any cost. His son Josh is fourth on the donor-recipient list and Danny goes on a murderous tirade to kill the other donors, with a cop (Amit Sadh) hot on his trail. In the second season, Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of a psychiatrist, whose son is kidnapped. He and his wife Abha (Nithya Menen) face terrifying manipulation at the hands of a masked kidnapper, only to realise later, that it’s someone eerily familiar.

Hostel Daze

The Hindi comedy-drama follows the lives of four friends in their first year, Ankit (Adarsh Gaurav), Chirag (Luv), and Jaat (Shubham Gaur) are students and roommates. The show takes you through all the fun and drama that takes place in an engineering hostel.


Who said the afterlife is peaceful? Upload takes us to a futuristic world where your consciousness can be digitized for an extravagant price and customers can stay in a luxurious afterlife resort of their choice. Our protagonist, bratty Nathan (Robert Amell) finds himself in a plush resort after dying in a car accident. He is sponsored by his girlfriend Ingrid, who can visit, and video calls him whenever she wants. However, a romance begins to brew between Nathan and Nora (Andy Allo) a cheery customer rep for the resort. A delightful and satirical show, Upload makes for quite an entertaining watch.

Marvelous Mrs Maisel

The critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated series follows Rachel Broshnahan as Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, a housewife who realises that she has a knack for stand-up comedy and decides to pursue a career in it while trying to hide her new-found job from her family. The show, which has four seasons, also stars Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen and Marin Hinkle.


Saucy and delightfully vicious, the British comedy-drama sees Phoebe Waller-Bridge as a seemingly free-spirited, but broken and angry woman in London. It’s a one-woman show, and Phoebe often breaks the fourth wall with hilarious commentary and monologues that adds more flavour to the series. Sian Clifford and Andrew Scott joined the series in the second series.

Wheel Of Time

Based on Robert Jordan’s novel series of the same name, the show follows the story of Morraine, a woman from the Aes Sadai, an organisation of powerful women who can channel the One Power. She encounters a group of villagers and believes that one is a reincarnation of the Dragon, a channeler who broke the world. The series stars Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoe Robbins and Madeleine Madden.

Young Sheldon

If you’re a Big Bang Theory fan and really want to know what was the backstory of socially awkward Sheldon Cooper, then Young Sheldon is for you. The series sees Ian Armitage as a young Sheldon, already displaying the precocious behaviour that the character became famous for in the original series.
