Intel 12th-gen Alder Lake Core HX series mobile CPUs
Intel has announced the 12th-gen Alder Lake Core HX series mobile CPUs at the Vision 2022 event on Tuesday. The Alder Lake chipsets are said to be a lot more power-hungry than the 11th gen predecessors.
The 12th-Gen Intel Core i9-12950HX, Core i9-12900HX, Core i7-12850HX, and Core i7-12800HX ship with 16-cores/24 processor threads, PCIe 5.0 X16, up to 128GB DDR5 RAM support and there’s a 55W base power to the silicon. The new HX series is claimed to deliver 65 percent more performance in multi-threaded workloads. It also supports a 157W maximum Turbo Power.
The Intel 12th-gen series supports a maximum Turbo Power of 157W. The Core i7-12650HX has a 16-core and 20-thread setup. Lastly, the Core i5-12600HX and Core i5-12450HX come with 14 cores/16 threads and 8 cores/12 threads, respectively. There’s support for Error Correcting Code (ECC) capability and Intel Wi-Fi 6/6E for connectivity. The Intel HX processors have support for the Dynamic RAM Boost feature, an updated Intel Speed Optimiser, and Extreme Tuning Utility by Intel.
