iQOO Z6 Pro 5G vs Realme 9 Pro Plus: price, specifications and features compared

iQOO Z6 Pro launched in India as the costlier version of the vanilla iQOO Z6. The handset comes with premium specifications like the 90Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 778G chipset, Android 12 OS, and a 16MP snapper on the front. The handset competes with the Realme 9 Pro+ that received great reviews for the cameras and a brand-new colour changing design on the back. The handset comes with MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, 50MP primary camera, and 60W fast charging.

iQOO Z6 Pro vs Realme 9 Pro+: price in India

The iQOO Z6 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 23,999 for the 6GB RAM/128GB Rs 24,999 for the 8GB/128GB version and Rs 28,999 for the 12GB RAM/256GB variant. However, the former variant will be available for Rs 22,999 as a part of the introductory offer. The handset will be on sale via Amazon and the iQOO website.

Realme 9 Pro+ price in India is Rs 24,999 for the 6GB+128GB, Rs 26,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and Rs 28,999 for the 8GB+256GB model. The phone comes in Midnight Black, Aurora Green, and Sunrise Blue colour options. Combined with bank offers, the price will be slightly lesser.

Design-wise, the iQOO Z6 Pro comes with a waterdrop notch on the front for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels. The volume rocker and power button are on the right spine, while the left edge sits flat. The USB Type-C port, speaker grille and SIM tray section are at the bottom.

On the back, there is a large camera module, where two circular rings are present to accommodate triple lenses (one in the top ring and two in the bottom ring.) The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor and comes in Phantom Dusk and Legion Sky colours. The back panel is made of plastic but gives an impression of glass, which is a good indication of its build quality.

On the other hand, the Realme 9 Pro+ has a more modern design. It has a corner punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The volume rocker is on the right, while the volume buttons and SIM tray section are placed at the left edge. The secondary microphone is at the top, while the speaker grille, 3.5mm audio jack and microphone are at the bottom. The back panel has a large square module to house triple camera sensors and an LED flash.

The Sunrise Blue colour variant of the Realme 9 Pro+  has a Light Shift Design that under normal sunlight or ultraviolet light changes colour from Blue to Red in about 3 seconds. It will fade away in 2-5 minutes with no sunlight.

Processor, storage, and RAM

Powering the iQOO Z6 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G with Adreno 642L GPU. It packs 8GB/12GB RAM and 4GB virtual RAM. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset paired with the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for games. The phone packs 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. It is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

The performance of the iQOO Z6 Pro should be slightly better than the Realme 9 Pro+, considering the Snapdragon 778G is a powerful chipset.


The iQOO Z6 Pro sports a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2404×1080 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1300nits brightness, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and a waterdrop notch.

Realme 9 Pro+ has the same 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate sensor, 1,080×2,400 pixels resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 2.5D curved glass, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90.80 percent screen to body ratio, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 430nits brightness (600 peak brightness), and 409 PPI.


iQOO Z6 Pro comes with a triple camera setup at the back, featuring a 64MP primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 116-degree FoV, and a 2MP 4cm macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture. There is a 16MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats.

Realme 9 Pro+ camera

The Realme 9 Pro+ has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary Sony IMX766 sensor with an LED flash, OIS, EIS, 1/1.56″ sensor, 6P lens, PDAF, and f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 119-degree FoV and f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. There is a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.

The cameras on the Realme 9 Pro+ have received impressive reviews from media and customers. The handset is said to offer a flagship-grade performance thanks to OIS and a 50MP Sony sensor.
